Fox attacks woman running in Lake City park
LAKE CITY, Ga. - A woman was bitten twice by a fox while running along a trail in Lake City Memorial Park, according to Lake City police.
An incident report said the woman was jogging alone in the deep end of the park, near the 1400 block of Huie Road, around 8:05 p.m. when a fox started chasing her, eventually biting her on her right leg and left hand. The woman fought off the fox with a stick, then kicked it and stepped on it, police said.
Police say two men who heard the woman’s screams came to help, beating the animal with stick until it died.
The woman was treated at the scene and later transported to a local hospital by Clayton County Fire and EMS.
