Four arrested in Jackson County drug bust

Four people were arrested this week following a drug bust in Jackson County. 

On Thursday, authorities searched a residence on Carruth Road in Jefferson after complaints of illegal drug activity. Officials found three ounces of methamphetamine, one ounce of marijuana, scales and packing materials, as well as $970. The street value of the narcotics was nearly $10,000. 

Four people were arrested following the drug bust, including Jaymon White, 32 for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Christopher Roughton, 45, and Georgia Roughton, 51, were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Ronald Smith, 50, was arrested on an outstanding felony probation warrant. 

All four of the suspects were living at the Carruth Road home, according to investigators. They were each taken to the Jackson County Detention Center.
