Former Atlanta City Hall employee sentenced in ongoing bribery scandal

Another former City Hall employee was sentenced to prison as part of the ongoing Atlanta bribery investigation.

A federal judge sentenced Sean Barnes to 37 months in prison for throwing a cinder block through E.R. Mitchell's front window back in 2015. Barnes has already served 5 months of that sentence while waiting for the trial.

Barnes, who at times worked for Mitchell, said he was angry when he learned Mitchell was cooperating with the FBI.

Mitchell was sentenced to prison for paying more than $2 million in bribes, allegedly to Reverend Mitzi Bickers.

Bickers pleaded not guilty last week

In court, Barnes apologized to the Mitchell family for what he called his bizarre and selfish behavior.
