Forecasters say more strong storms possible in Georgia

ATLANTA (AP) — Forecasters say more damaging storms are possible across Georgia a day after powerful winds and lightning caused damage in metro Atlanta.

The National Weather Service says some isolated severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday across central and southern Georgia in an area stretching from Columbus and Macon to Savannah and the coast. Powerful isolated storms are also possible further north from Rome and Gainesville to metro Atlanta.

Storms toppled trees and power lines in the Atlanta area Tuesday night. WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1CDN4GI ) trees falling on houses and one house fire sparked by lightning kept firefighters in Cherokee County busy. Assistant Fire Chief Eddie Robinson called it "just a crazy night."
