ATLANTA - First responders saved a woman from jumping off an overpass along Interstate 20 in Atlanta Monday morning.
Police were called to I-20 at Moreland Avenue where a woman was threatening to jump off the bridge. SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene around 10:30 a.m. as an officer sat with the woman along the edge of the overpass.
The officer was able to convince the woman not to jump and the two were seen hugging each before safely coming off the bridge. The woman was treated at the scene, then transported to a local hospital.
The investigation caused all lanes of Interstate 20 westbound to shut down. Heavy delays remain as police clear the scene.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
