Fiery crash snarls traffic on I-285

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - An 18-wheeler burst into flames on Interstate 285 near the Flat Shoals Parkway exit on Tuesday night following an accident.

Traffic on the interstate was stopped and backed up for miles for several hours following the incident while firefighters and rescue workers worked the scene.

Witnesses told FOX 5 News the big rig caught fire and exploded.

Officials at the scene said the tractor trailer and another vehicle became entangled, leading the fire and explosion. It is still unclear what the truck was hauling.

No one was injured.
