Female MARTA rider assaulted after leaving station

The answer "no" should have been enough. A young woman said she rejected a man's advances several times but it was not enough. The incident started during a peak commuter time on the MARTA train last week.

On a train, which was not crowded, a man came and sat by the victim becoming more and more aggressive. As the young woman moved from one train to transfer to another, the man continued to follow her.

Ultimately, the woman arrived at the Sandy Springs stop and got off. The male rider grabs her hand and puts his hands around her waist. The woman said she pushed him away and hurriedly walked to her job located near perimeter mall.

Instead of giving up, the man stunned the woman when he punched her in the face, breaking her nose.

A spokesperson for the transit agency advises all riders to alert someone quickly the moment they feel uncomfortable.
