FBI Briefs Local Chiefs on Terror Threats and Response

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - They filed into the FBI Incident Command Center, knowing the weight on their shoulders is even greater than what these police chiefs signed up for when they took the oath.

Special agent in charge of the Atlanta FBI office, Britt Johnson, hosted the meeting and debriefed everyone in a closed session on intelligence from Paris, and other places around the world.

Afterwards, Johnson said he told the chiefs from small towns they could equally see an incident. And, there is another dynamic the chiefs were briefed about. What would happen if coordinated and simultaneous attacks, like the those in Paris, were to happen here?

The FBI chief said it will be important for each department to send a representative to the command center so they'll be able to get live information as it happens. 

As far as any hard threat to the nation, authorities said they have none right now.
