The Fayetteville Police Department is searching for two armed men who robbed the Dollar General store, located at 170 Banks Rd, at gunpoint on Tuesday night, according to authorities.

Two men came into the store brandishing firearms and demanded money from the register and safe on September 19 around 9:55 p.m., according to police.

“As you can see they are very much in control and quick and very forceful,” Fayetteville Police Captain Mike Whitlow said as he shared the surveillance video with NewsRadio 106.7’s Christy Hutchings.

One suspect was wearing black pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a black ski mask. The second suspect was wearing blue shorts, a black t-shirt and black ski mask.

The captain said the female employees did what they should have done.

“The two employees did a fantastic job and kept their cool. Fortunately nobody was injured, of course they're shaken but nobody injured physically"

The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of money then fled the store in a gray, four-door sedan with a University of Florida edition, State of Georgia issued license plate.

“We've already reached out to several jurisdictions to see if anybody has something similar,” said Captain Whitlow.

This same Dollar General was hit by a single robber a few months ago, but police don't think the two are related.

“Hopefully someone out there will see these guys. I know they had on ski masks, but look at their clothing, look at the way they're moving, the guns that they had. Sometimes people brag about these things so anybody with information we certainly encourage them to contact the Fayetteville Police Department,” said Whitlow.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 770-461-4441.
