Fan react as Atlanta United heads to MLS Cup

The team may have lost their second leg match 1-0 to the New York Red Bulls at their pitch, but since the Red Stripes won their first leg 3-0, it put them in the advantage.

Establishments all across metro Atlanta were packed with fans cheering along for the Red, Black, and Gold.

They shut them out in the first leg on Sunday and hope they can keep the momentum going.

Thousands of Atlanta United fans watched the game from Atlantic Station.  The energy and enthusiasm vibrated through the crowd. 

Many of the fans have closely followed the team throughout the season. Filling up the stadium at home games.

"Over 70 thousand fans all cheering and chanting the same thing, just sends shivers up your spine," said fan Greg Masters.

It was intense.  Everyone had one goal, to see Atlanta United win.

"The camaraderie associated with it is just outstanding," said Jon Martin.

The MLS Cup will be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Dec. 8 and will air on FOX 5 Atlanta starting at 8 p.m.
