Family Thanks Good Samaritan after Crash on Christmas Day

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A family thanked a local man Sunday for saving their sister's life on Christmas Day.

Danielle Gallon was driving in Gwinnett County when she veered off a road. She crashed in an embankment in between poles. She suffered a broken neck, according to her relatives.

Scott Forte was driving on the road when he heard the crash. He told Fox 5 he pulled over, called for help and stayed with Gallon until first responders arrived. Forte left his contact information with authorities.

"If that happened to me or one of my relatives, I would want someone to stop," Forte said.

Gallon's family drove from Buffalo, New York to see her. They also arranged a meeting with Forte Sunday at Gwinnett Medical Center, where Gallon is undergoing treatment. Regina Verse, Gallon's sister, was overwhelmed with tears after meeting Forte for the first time.

"He could have just called police and left like most people would have done," Verse said. "He is her angel."

Verse has set up a fundraiser to collect money for her sister's medical expenses.
