Fairburn boy enjoys lunch at the White House

A Fairburn boy will have quite the ‘what did you do on your summer vacation’ story to tell when he heads back to school this year.

How about lunch at the White House with First Lady Michelle Obama?!

Corey Jackson Junior, who is a Main Street Academy fifth grader, just won the first lady’s Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.

Corey’s mother Dora entered the contest on an whim.

The recipe had to be healthy, balanced, and affordable.

Mango, Cango Chicken had it all, including a story that was life changing.

You see, five years ago, the now 10-year-old was diagnosed with autism.  The family completely changed his diet by going gluten free.

The change in Corey was dramatic. He went from barely speaking to an outgoing young man who is now on the honor roll at school.

Mango Cango Chicken combined some of Corey’s favorite foods- rice and chicken.

He and his mother got to join winners from other states at a lunch at the White House on Friday. He even met President Obama!

Corey is an aspiring architect and he says he can’t wait to see the White House and get a private tour of the Capitol, set up thru Georgia Congressman David Scott.
