FAA: Two killed in Pike County plane crash

Friday, federal investigators will be on the scene of a deadly plane crash in Pike County. 

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed two people were killed when an Experimental Curtiss JN4 aircraft crashed about a quarter mile from the Peach State Airport runway in Williamson Thursday evening.

Witnesses reported hearing an explosion before the plane caught fire.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating.

The names of those on board have not yet been released.

No one on the ground was hurt.
