Exclusive:Troopers Arrest Man after Crash, Chase in Northeast Atlanta

ATLANTA - Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol arrested a man after a high-speed chase and crash in northeast Atlanta Thursday night.

Georgia State Patrol identified the suspect as Sheldon Marah of Atlanta.

The agency told FOX 5 News that Marah was speeding at 97 mph in a 55 mph on Interstate 85 North. When a trooper tried to pull him over on the interstate at Georgia Highway 13, he sped off, troopers said. The chase ended when Marah crashed into an SUV at the intersection of Cheshire Bridge and Lavista roads. FOX 5 has learned there were two adults in the SUV but they were not injured in the crash.

GSP transported Marah to the Atlanta Pretrial Detention Center and released him to their custody.

He faces a series of charges including driving under the influence, speeding and attempting to elude authorities.
