East Point Gas Station Accused of Selling Bad Gasoline
EAST POINT, Ga. - Laverne Fenn said what happened to her should never have happened, and now she has been left with $1,100 worth of damages to her car.
The Lithonia woman believes it is all because of some bad gasoline she said she got from an East Point Chevron gas station.
It happened Saturday. Fenn said she was leaving a meeting and needed gas, so she filled up her Lexus with premium gas at the station on Headland Drive.
After the car broke down, she said she had it towed to a dealership. A report from the dealership states the gasoline was the cause. She said they told her they found water and debris in her gas tank.
The Department of Agriculture told FOX 5 News Fenn's complaint was the second one about the premium gas at that station.
The department launched an investigation. According to the results obtained by FOX 5 News, officials also found water and debris sediment in the premium gas line.
They have now shut down the premium tank, as well as the mid-grade tank, because it is a blended tank. The tanks will be off until the station passes another inspection.
