Police officers in Duluth made an unusual rescue Monday morning.

On Sunday, a homeowner called the Duluth Police Department about his escaped pet. But this was no dog or cat. It was a peacock.

The officers attempted to capture the feathered runaway but had no success.

On Monday morning they tried again after discovering the bird was stuck in a tree.

After climbing a ladder, homeowner and the officers were able to rescue the bird.

She's now safe and sound back with her owner.
