Duluth boy, 12, killed in pedestrian accident

A Duluth boy was struck and killed while crossing the road Tuesday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Pleasant Hill Road near Woodberry Drive.

Responding officers said they found a pre-teen male, identified as 12-year-old Gianni Salazar, with serious injuries. The boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators learned that Gianni was trying to cross the road when he was struck by three different vehicles. He was not in the crosswalk when he was hit.

The drivers of the three vehicles remained on scene. They will not face any criminal charges, police said.
