Driver in custody after deadly pedestrian accident

RIVERDALE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police are investigating a driver after a deadly pedestrian accident in Clayton County.

Officials told FOX 5 the man was crossing Riverdale Road near Garden Walk Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle and killed.

The victim, who has not been identified, was not in a crosswalk with he was crossing the street, investigators said.

Authorities say the driver is in custody and is being investigated for suspicion of driving under the influence.

So far, no charges have been filed.
