Driver arrested for DUI after getting stuck on train tracks in Austell

AUSTELL - A driver was arrested Saturday night after their vehicle became stuck on railroad tracks at Veterans Memorial Highway and Spring Street in Austell.
According to the Austell Police Department, officers from Team 3 responded to the incident around 9:11 p.m. on Jan. 19. Upon arrival, officers discovered a white vehicle stranded on the tracks. Following an investigation, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no other motorists were affected by the incident.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Cobb County Jail. Authorities are reminding the public of the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence.
