Douglasville foster mom loses her home in fire
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - A family in Douglasville is without a permanent home after their house went up in flames on Thursday.
Neighbors could see the fire rage through Tammy Stell's home on Bearden Road in Douglasville Thursday night.
The family was having dinner inside, not realizing the porch was on fire. Luckily, everyone inside made it out safely. But, the house is a total loss. Right now, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Tammy Stell's was eating dinner inside their home on Bearden Road in Douglasville when a fire broke out Thursday night.
"My mom is one of the strongest people I know. I've never seen her this broken. It's hard to talk to her, she doesn't really want to talk. She just … she's quiet," Jake Stell, Tammy's son, said.
"We got here, and the left side of the house was on fire, but it was still saveable … And then, it wasn't," he explained.
The Douglas County fire chief issued the following statement:
"Unfortunately, during the process of battling the fire, a water main break at the intersection of Marooney Mill and Merlin Circle impacted water pressure and access to continuous water supply in the Bearden Road area for a significant period of time, impacting the ability to gain quicker control over the fire.
"Upon restoration of the water supply following a repair to the water main break, firefighters were able to gain full control of the fire."
Stell is a long-time foster care worker who adopted five kids of her own, and drives a school bus for Douglas County students who have special needs.
"Anything she can do to help, she's willing to do it," Jake explained.
Now the focus is helping Stell and her family rebuild. Neighbors have offered spaces for the family to stay nearby.
"I'm really praying for her and her family, and we'll do anything we can to help them and help them get this house rebuilt if they can.," Stell's neighbor, Ginger Williams, said.
There is a GoFundMe campaign set up to help the family recover.
