Detective comforts child after crash

CONYERS, Ga. - The Conyers Police Department is sending a warning this holiday season to slow down and pay attention to your surroundings.

Wednesday, a driver ran a red light and struck another vehicle at the intersection in the area of Sigman Road and Eastview Road. Conyers Police and Rockdale County Fire worked to clear the roadway and transported injured parties to the hospital for evaluation. Luckily, Detective Staton consoled a small child that was involved in an accident. The child was properly restrained and is doing just fine.

“I did not want the little girl to see the mom’s injuries, so I took her away from the scene to console her. I wanted to make sure the little girl was okay.  Her mom was bleeding and I did not want to let her see her mommy in that capacity,” said Stanton.
