Deadly crash shuts down I-75 northbound lanes

Department of Transportation officials say a van was heading south going in the wrong direction of traffic.  That van slammed into a Honda Civic.

A total of four vehicles were involved in the accident.

Henry County police say at least one person died.  D.O.T. put the injury count at 7, with two of them being life threatening. It's possible that one of those ended up as a fatality.  The victims were taken to local hospitals with a number of them ending up at Grady.

All northbound traffic was forced off I-75 at Hudson Bridge Road. All lanes have since reopened.

From our vantage point we saw a small silver car, which appeared to have been hit head on. A dark colored SUV also suffered front end damage. A red pickup had side damage.  The other vehicle, presumed to be the van was too far for us to get a good look.
