Dashcam: burglars caught stealing $21K

CHAMBLEE, Ga. - Chamblee Police share dash cam video of what officers describe as a takedown of burglars who tried to steal close to $21,000.

"They were not ready for us," said Lt. Jason Waasdorp of Chamblee Police.

Officers said the ordeal occurred early Friday morning at the Quick Shop Food Mart off Chamblee Dunwoody Road, where a 911 call reported a burglary in progress.

The business, police said, operates as a check cashing business and had been burglarized before.

Police said three men were about to flee in a getaway vehicle, but were blocked off by a responding vehicle; the three men then took off, and police said two were caught in a neighboring apartment complex.

Quinton Samples, 22, and Sydney Clark, 29, face numerous charges related to the burglary. One culprit is still wanted by police.

Police are investigating if the men are tied to other burglaries at the location.
