Crooks Target Candler Park Store

ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are looking for two suspects who broke into the Candler Park Market early last week.

According to investigators, the two suspects smashed through a front window around 5a.m. Wednesday. Security cameras caught the duo during the crime. One suspect can be seen squeezing through a narrow window into the store, while his accomplice waits outside. The accomplice peeks inside at one point and removes the mask he is wearing, giving cameras a clear look at his face.

Investigators said the duo made off with a few hundred dollars in cash and some cigarettes. Back in March, the same store was targeted in a similar fashion. Then, thieves smashed down the front door and then stole money and merchandise.

Neighbors in the area are unnerved by the crime. They said crime seems to be on the rise in the area. The store's assistant manager told FOX 5 News that recently the neighborhood and its businesses recently formed a new security patrol which they hope will help to keep crime in check.
