In this day and age more people are doing business with perfect strangers, many selling items online, and police said it makes the public more vulnerable to crooks.

Conyers resident Koffi Assogba filed a report with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office claiming he had been robbed after arranging to meet someone who wanted to purchase his laptop and iPhone at his home on Beulah Way in Conyers late Tuesday night.

Assogba said the suspects drove off heading toward Honey Creek Road

The victim drove around looking for the men and spotted them at this Quick Trip on Salem Road.

Assogba said he followed the men on Salem Road, where they hit his car after he tried unsuccessfully to stop them with his vehicle. He pursued them onto Interstate 20 East into Newton County before they gave him the slip.

Police remind the public that such transactions should always be carried out during the day in a public place like a police department.

Police also say know what type of vehicle the buyer is driving and get to your location early. If something doesn't seem right, leave.
