Congressman: "Fair saves lives"
Congressman David Scott hosted his 12th Annual Health Fair Saturday in Jonesboro.
Thousands of people came to check out a variety of health screenings from many of the region's leading healthcare organizations.
One woman says the fair saved her daughter's life. Julie Fuzell says she came to Scott's second fair when she was seven months pregnant. "We came for my father in law to get information about Parkinson's Disease so I happened to get my blood pressure checked and it was very very high," said Julie Fuzell.
Fuzell says she went to the hospital and hours later her daughter Sidney was born. "She was about two pounds when she came out. It was frightening because she fit in the palm of my husband's hand," said Fuzell.
Congressman Scott says it's a great feeling knowing the fair saves lives. "There is no better feeling that you can have than when you know you have done something today that saves lives," said Congressman David Scott
