College Park man arrested in heroin distribution investigation

HALL COUNTY, Ga. - A College Park man was arrested in Hall County on Tuesday after a heroin distribution investigation. 

Dartel Dwayne Towler, 36, was taken into custody in the parking lot of a business on West Ridge Road in Gainesville. He was found with over 5.6 grams of heroin packaged in four separate bags, 7 ecstasy tablets, more than four grams of synthetic cannabinoid, two 9mm caliber pistols, one stolen gun, digital scales, packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia. 

Authorities also seized $2,600 in cash. 

Towler was charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of synthetic cannabinoid, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a felon, and theft by receiving a stolen firearm. 

The suspect was taken to the Hall County Jail.
