Cold Front to Bring Chilly Temperatures This Weekend

A cold front will pass through north Georgia Friday to usher in the coolest air of the season for the weekend. Breezes will pick up Friday afternoon to 10-15 mph out of the northwest with the frontal passage. 

Behind the cold front, temperatures will fall quickly Friday evening!  After reaching afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, the numbers will tumble into the low to mid 40s Friday night. 

Saturday will feature sunshine and highs in the upper 60s, but Sunday is even cooler. By Sunday morning, some mountain locations in northeast Georgia could experience some patchy frost. The metro Atlanta area will have temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s. Temperatures will rebound to the cool low to mid 60s Sunday afternoon.

FOOTBALL FORECAST: 

Athens, GA: FOX 5 Storm Team's Joanne Feldman says bring a jacket for the game on Saturday! It will be a very cool night for football in Athens. 

Atlanta: You can expect perfect "football weather" for the Georgia Tech game. It will be sunny and cool for the 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
