COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A Cobb County teacher has been honored for her hard work and dedication in the classroom.
"Atlanta Families' Awards For Excellence In Education" has recognized Timber Ridge Elementary School's Alison Dunford as an excellent educator. They awarded her with $7,500 on Thursday to help her school.
Dunford said a chunk of that money will go to a project that she's passionate about, which is outdoor classrooms for students.
Educators in five metro-Atlanta school districts receive this award.
They help to raise student achievement, enhance students' self esteem and more.
