Cobb County officer struck during traffic stop

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A Cobb County police officer is recovering after he was hit by another car during a traffic stop.

It happened overnight at Barrett Parkway and Macland Road. Police said another driver tried to go around the officer's car, but ended up hitting the patrol car and the officer.

Investigators said the officer was able to push the driver he pulled over out of the way.

The officer suffered a head injury, but he is expected to be okay.

No word on any charges.
