Cobb County armed robbery suspect arrested

COBB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police arrested a man accused of attacking a woman and stealing her purse in Cobb County.

Melvin Ward, 47, faces weapon and robbery charges.

The robbery happened Thursday in a parking lot on Delk Road.

Police say Ward knocked the woman to the ground before taking off with her purse.

Officers tracked him down just a few miles from where it all happened.
