The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of his co-worker has been placed on Clayton County's top ten most wanted for murder list.

Deputies are searching for Antwan Thomas, 37, of Riverdale, who is now number two on Sheriff Victor Hill's list.

Investigators said Thomas is on the run after an argument around 1 p.m. Monday with his co-worker escalated into a deadly shooting in front of the XPO Logistics, which is located in the 7100 block of Southlake Parkway.

Clayton County Police Department Lt. Frank Thomas said Thomas got into a shouting match with the other employee and the two men ended up in the middle of the roadway where police said Thomas opened fire, shooting the other man.

“It just appeared to be a dispute about who was in charge at the moment. We're not really sure what happened once it got out on Southlake Parkway or what was said that's why we'd like to get a hold of the other party involved,” said Lt. Thomas.

A woman ran to the victim’s aid, but witnesses said there was nothing she could have done.

“I just heard the gunshot, so when I ran down here a man was laying in the middle of the street and a woman was giving him CPR. Yeah, she did all she could,” said Rickey Gousha, who saw the shooting.

Police said the victim was shot once in the head. The gunman fled the scene.

“He just jumped in his car and left,” said witness Adrianne Naylor. “He just sped off left the man laying there."

“You never know you have to be careful and not take the argument so seriously, nothing's worth losing your life over. I just want to give my prayers out to the family it was it was sad,” said Yvette McCoy.

Lt. Thomas said they have obtained warrants for Antwan Latrell Thomas. Investigators spoke with several people who witnessed the shooting.

The name of the man who was killed has not yet been released.

Anyone who sees Antwan Latrell Thomas is asked to call 911.
