According to investigators, a 39-year-old woman told police she was with her 36-year-old husband sleeping inside their vehicle when they woke up to gunshots. The car was parked in a parking lot at Flat Shoals Park in Clayton County, police said.

The woman told investigators she woke up to a "loud bang," then realized she and her husband had been shot.

According to police, the woman said her husband was in "desperate need of medical attention," so she drove away from the park and didn't stop until she spotted a College Park officer at the gas station on Old National Highway.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital. The woman is in stable condition, according to police, and her husband underwent surgery. No word yet on his condition.

A black Camaro was seen at an Exxon gas station with its windows shot out. A bloody rag was also located near the car. Clayton County Police had the vehicle towed away.

The gas station clerk told FOX 5 police seized his surveillance video. Officers at the gas station wouldn't confirm if the Camaro was connected to the park shooting.

Police have not identified any suspects at this time.
