Citizen alerts police to ATM burglary

CANTON, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Canton Police are crediting a concerned citizen with helping in the arrest of a burglary suspect.

Police say Forrest Andrew Leach, 55, of Acworth, was trying to break into the ATM at the Ameris Bank on Riverstone Parkway early Thursday morning.

A concerned citizen tipped off by police by calling 911.

Responding officers responded and arrested Leach.

Investigators say he had also burglarized a self-pay kiosk at a nearby car wash.
