DULUTH, Ga. - A 4-year-old Gwinnett County boy is dead after being found face down in an apartment complex pool Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the Landmark at Bella Vista apartments located at 4015 Satellite Boulevard near Duluth around 4:20 p.m. Gwinnett County Firefighter Captain Tommy Rutledge said the child had been pulled from the pool and CPR was in progress when paramedics arrived. The unresponsive boy was rushed to Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth where he later died.
Rutledge said they were not sure how long the child was in the water. Family members told officials that the boy had wandered out of the apartment. Family, friends and neighbors were searching the complex for the boy when a teenager passing the pool saw his lifeless body.
The name of the boy has not yet been released.
