Cherokee County woman charged in the death of her husband

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - A Cherokee County woman was charged with murdering her husband.

Back in April, deputies say 74-year-old Betty Sue Parton called 911 to report that her 76-year-old husband, David, died after falling and hitting his head.

Authorities conducted an autopsy and determined the manner of death was a homicide.

The cause was blunt force trauma, according to investigators.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the Parton home and took Betty Sue into custody Wednesday.
