Cherokee County Animal Control rescue nearly 100 cats

The Cherokee County Marshal's office and Animal Control units went to a residence on East Cherokee Drive  Saturday in response to complaints about cats being hoarded.

Officers determined that there were nearly 100 cats in the home many of which appeared to be in poor health. The residents voluntarily gave up the animals. The cats were being taken to the shelter to evaluate their condition.

A juvenile living in the home was turned over to DFACS. The homeowners are facing multiple charges.
