Caught on Tape: Thieves Smash into Dillard's

ATLANTA - Atlanta police have released surveillance video of thieves smashing the window of a Dillard's at the Atlantic Station shopping center, and breaking into steal designer clothes.

"They went to where Polo-type clothing is on display. They only took Polo clothing and immediately left the store," said Sgt. Warren Pickard.

The incident happened Sunday morning around 4 a.m. Police said they recovered a stolen vehicle used by the suspects in the area of Hollywood Road.

Atlanta police are looking at ties to smash-and-grabs at a Threadz clothing store in Virginia Highland and a North Face clothing store in Buckhead, both of which happened Tuesday morning.

Authorities are investigating if the thefts have been possibly committed by local gangs.
