Cartersville mother and missionary remembered
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Pastors, Family and friends remembered a Cartersville mother and missionary as a true God-fearing woman.
Hundreds gathered for the funeral of Kyra Karr at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The 30-year-old mother of three was remembered as a kind woman who always helped others and served God.
Police say a runaway semi-truck rolled down a hill and smashed into the Karr's Toyota Tundra last Thursday night. The 18-wheeler forced the Karr's truck across the median and two lanes of traffic, through a guardrail and down an embankment. Police say it took almost two hours to extract Reid Karr and two of the couples daughter's from the wreckage on Highway 41 in Emerson.
Police charged 53-year-old Ivan Delgado of New York with DUI, involuntary manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
Police say Delgado was walking around the truck conducting a safety check and apparently forgot to put the parking brakes on the big rig.
