Butts County service dog goes missing on Easter Sunday
BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. - A Butts County woman is urging people to keep an eye out for her service dog, Carl.
The 1-year-old Border Collie-Husky mix helps his diabetic owner Lauren know when her blood sugar is low. But Lauren says beyond being a service dog, Carl is a part of her family.
According to Lauren, he went missing Easter Sunday on Highway 36 in Jackson near Cherokee Road.
"Something spooked him and he got off of his leash. It's very unlike him."
Carl was spotted unharmed Sunday afternoon. But there has been no word on his whereabouts since then.
Lauren suggests that if you see Carl, to try offering him food or saying his name in a friendly tone. She is worried he may be scared right now.
Carl is micro-chipped and wears a rainbow collar with bones on it. His tags have both Lauren and her wife's information.
