Burglary suspect with 40 arrests taken into custody

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A burglary suspect with 40 prior arrests is behind bars once again. 

Last Saturday, September 14, police were called to a home on Ponce De Leon Avenue. A man who lived at the home told responding officers he woke up to find a male suspect trying to steal his television. 

The victim told police he struggled with the intruder before the suspect took off. The victim said the suspect stole his wallet. 

Investigators said the suspect, identified as Casey O'Halloran, immediately started using the victim's credit cards at various Midtown stores. 

Police found the suspect at the Walgreens on Piedmont Avenue. A short foot chase ensued, but O'Halloran was taken into custody not long after. 

According to police, O'Halloran has 40 prior arrests in Georgia and Texas for a number of crimes. 

The suspect was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
