Brief pursuit in Spalding County ends in crash

SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. - A chase in Spalding County ends in a devastating crash.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene early Wednesday evening, on Highway 19 near the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In trying to perform a felony stop, deputies said they pursued a car with four people inside.

The driver crashed and tried to run, but was quickly arrested.

Investigators said one passenger was severely injured and airlifted to the hospital. The two others were transported on the ground to an area hospital.

Traffic was backed up in the area for a few hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
