Paulding County officials have declared a boil water advisory for two areas after a pump station failure.

The Paulding County Board of Commissioners said in a statement that the county's Bell Road booster pump station is causing low water pressure due to a failure to supply water in the Union and Yorkville areas.

Citizens in those areas should boil their water before drinking it, using it in cooking or using it to prepare baby food.

The water should be boiled for at least a minute after reaching a boil to make that it reaches certain quality standards.

The county's water system is working to get the pump running properly and will be sampling the water to make sure there is not any contamination and will lift the advisory as soon as possible.
