Body found in Emerson along I-75

EMERSON, Ga. - Investigators in Bartow County were out along Interstate 75 Wednesday after a body was discovered.

Emerson Police said the body was found along the northbound lanes near the Emerson-Allatoona Road exit around 8 a.m.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who was asked to assist in the investigation, only identified the body as that of a “white male.”

The Georgia State Patrol assisted with traffic as investigators combed over the scene.

No vehicle was found near the body.

An autopsy will be performed by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
