Blood donations needed during the holidays

ATLANTA - The American Red Cross is asking everyone to take time this busy holiday season to donate blood.

A decline in donations occurs between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, according to the American Red Cross. Meanwhile, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. is in need of blood.

Donors of all blood types are needed this holiday season to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients, the American Red Cross said.
