Beautiful December Friday, chilly rain this weekend

ATLANTA - Sunshine and seasonably cool temperatures Friday will give way to steady, chilly rain over the weekend.

By Saturday, clouds will increase during the day. A few showers will move in from the west very late in the day, but many areas may still be dry until Saturday night.  At that time, periods of steady rain will kick in and will continue off and on throughout the day Sunday. 

In addition to being overcast and wet, Sunday’s temperatures will hold in the 40s for most of the day.

This same weather system will bring several waves of showers through on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday may also bring some thunderstorms as temperatures temporarily warm up into the 60s. 

Most of the rain will be ending by Tuesday afternoon, but between late Saturday and early Tuesday, we expect to average 2”-4” or more of rain across the area.
