“Although the city has always been friends with City of Refuge, this morning we’re going to be better friends," Reed said.

Reed announced a new, workforce development for City of Refuge to help Westside residents.

"I am absolutely thrilled to join two of Atlanta’s iconic companies, and most special leaders, in contributing $1.25 million towards the $28 million capital campaign for the City of Refuge," Reed said.

The mayor was joined by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent.

"I believe that the City of Refuge is core to the mission of developing the Westside of our city,” Reed said.
