Atlanta's deserving veterans gets Thanksgiving meals

ATLANTA - Hundreds of Atlanta veterans in need also have a Thanksgiving meal.

The organization Soldiers Angels distributed the food to more than 200 veterans and their families through their hunger relief program.

Organizers said they give out 50 pounds of food per person on the last Friday of every month.

But this month, they moved the distribution date up for the Thanksgiving holiday.

APICS Atlanta sponsored Wednesday's event in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
