Shooters sought after firing into Carroll Heights home

Authorities are searching for a group of people who opened fire into a Carroll Heights neighborhood home, injuring a 34-year-old man inside.

What we know:

The shooting occurred along Sandy Creek Drive just after 5 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the victim was grazed by gunfire originating from outside the residence. Medics treated him at the scene.

Investigators with APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit spent the evening collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing doorbell camera footage. 

What we don't know:

Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting

It is not yet clear if the victim or the residence was specifically targeted.

It remains unclear how many suspects were involved or if they fled the scene on foot or in a vehicle. 

Investigators have not said if any weapons were recovered at the home.

Police have not released the man's identity or descriptions of the suspects.
