Atlanta public safety personnel bring their children to work

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Thursday was National Bring Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day.

Atlanta's public safety personnel were taking part.

Employees were invited to bring their children, from first through 12th grades into work Thursday.

The children spent the day learning about what it's like to have a public safety career with the city of Atlanta.

Officials said they had added some new elements to the event this year, specifically geared toward teenagers.

The police department, fire rescue, and department of corrections teamed up to host this event.
